Equipment

Two isolation control valve systems in a high-pressure polyethylene plant

Objective

To improve valve reliability by the reduction of contamination and silting problems.  Kidney loop filtration was added to the system resevoirs.  Halex Coils were used with the spin-on filters in the kidney loop systems.

Results

ISO cleanliness codes improved from 21/18 to 11/8 and from 18/11 to 12/8 in the two systems.  Since the installation of the filtration system, no valves have stuck, but have responded as needed.
